The Additional charges table of 13.1.1 with Water charges, GST, Contractor's profit and overheads, Labour cess, Cost and Say
The Additional charges table of item 13.1.1, which uses most of these words. The Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023 and the Delhi Schedule of Rates 2023 are published by CPWD, and the copyright in them belongs to CPWD.
WordWhat it means
DSRThe Delhi Schedule of Rates 2023, the book of rates that estimates and bills are made from.
DARThe Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023, the book that shows how each rate of the DSR is built. RateAnalyser shows it.
AnalysisOne item of the DAR: the table Detail of cost, then the table Additional charges, ending in the rate.
Basic rateThe rate of one material, one kind of labour or one machine, with a code like 0367 for cement. Every analysis is built on them.
PrintingSome codes are printed in the book more than once, each at its own rate. Each one is a printing, and the item page lists them by rate.
SayThe rate of the item: the cost of 1 unit, rounded to the nearest 5 paise.
Batch quantityThe quantity an item is worked out for, for example 10 sqm. The cost is divided down to 1 unit after that. The box is called Worked out for.
MATERIAL and LABOURThe headings in Detail of cost that group the lines. An item that uses machines has a heading MACHINERY too.
Water chargesThe first additional charge, 1% of the total of Detail of cost.
GST multiplying factorThe second additional charge. The book multiplies the running total by 0.2127, and it is not 18%.
CPOHThe contractor's profit and overheads, the third additional charge, 15% of the running total.
Labour cessThe last additional charge, 1% of the running total.
Sub headA chapter of the book. The first number of an item's code is its sub head, so 13.1.1 is in sub head 13.

Things to know

  • Nearly every item uses these same 4 figures for the additional charges. Only a few items print a different GST factor.
  • Each additional charge is worked out on the total after the charge above it, so the order matters, see Additional charges.
  • The sub head that holds sanitary work, sub head 17, is printed as pictures in the book, so its items, about 225 of them, are not in RateAnalyser yet.
  • The book is published by CPWD, which owns it. RateAnalyser is not connected with CPWD.

The Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023 is published by the Central Public Works Department, Government of India, and the copyright in it belongs to CPWD. RateAnalyser is not connected with CPWD and does not claim any right in the book. What this site adds is our own work: reading the book, checking its arithmetic, and the tools built on top of it. Always check against the published book before you use a rate in a bill.
