Most DSR 2023 rates come from the DAR. The DAR is the book that works each rate out, one item at a time, from the cost of material, labour and machinery, and then adds water charges, GST, the contractor's profit and overheads, and labour cess. RateAnalyser has that book on the screen and works the sums out again whenever you change a rate.
The 3 steps
- Sign in and search the book. Type 13.1.1, a few words like cement plaster, or a rate like 347.05, and the items come up as you type.
- Open the analysis and follow a line. See the labour, material and machinery behind the rate, and open a line like mortar 3.4 to see the item it comes from.
- Change a rate and download the excel. Put in today’s rate for cement or labour and the item is worked out again, then download it as an excel file with live formulas in it.
What is in the book
- 2,964 analyses, and each one is the working behind a rate.
- 2,576 basic rates, which are the hire of machinery, labour and materials that the analyses are built on.
- CPWD's 11 correction slips, up to 4 August 2026.
- Sub head 17, Sanitary Installations, is not in yet, because the book prints it as pictures. That is about 225 items. Items not in yet
Things to know
- Anybody can see an item's rate. You sign in to search the book, and you open the full analysis with a free item or a pass. What is free
- RateAnalyser also has Justification, which checks a contractor's Schedule of Work against the book at the market rates you type, and gives you a JOR PDF. What Justification is
- RateAnalyser shows how a rate is built, and it does not make your bill. If you need the bill, that is ContractBill. Which product do I need?
- The book belongs to CPWD and RateAnalyser is not connected with CPWD. Always check the published book before you use a rate in a bill.
