The item page in RateAnalyser

Every item in the book has its own page. The top of the page gives you the DSR number, name, unit and rate, and tells you where the item is printed in the book, whether the rate matches the DSR, and whether the book's own figures add up. The full analysis sits below it.

How to read the top of the page

  1. Search for the item and press its row. A link from Google opens the same page, and you do not need to sign in to see the top of it.
  2. In small letters above the name is the group the item belongs to, like 12 mm cement plaster of mix for 13.1.1.
  3. Next to the name are the badges. The Rate per sqm is in a box on the right, and once you have opened the item it is at the top of the analysis.
  4. Under that, an item you have not opened shows How this rate is built, and an item you have opened shows its Detail of cost. Detail of cost
The top of the item page of 13.1.1 with the badges Matches DSR 2023 and Vol 2, page 985, and the box with the rate per sqm
The top of the page for item 13.1.1, 12 mm cement plaster 1:4, from the Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023, Vol 2, page 985. The Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023 and the Delhi Schedule of Rates 2023 are published by CPWD, and the copyright in them belongs to CPWD.

Things to know

  • Matches DSR 2023 means the rate in the book is the same as the rate in the Delhi Schedule of Rates 2023. Differs from the DSR rate means the DSR prints another rate, and the badge gives that rate.
  • The book's own figures do not add up here means a figure printed in the book does not agree with the sums around it. When the book does not add up
  • A badge like Vol 2, page 985 is the page of the book where the item is printed. An item that runs over more pages shows both page numbers, and an item that comes from a correction slip shows no page.
  • Opened free means you opened this item with one of your free items. What is free
  • A few codes are printed more than once in the book, at different rates, like SUB-AR-1. The page then lists the rates, the one you are on is dark, and pressing another one opens that printing.
How it is worked out

The page number on the screen is the one printed on the paper. A PDF viewer counts from the first page of the file, so in the PDF files we read, the two numbers differ by a fixed amount in each volume:

Printed page = PDF page less 9 in Volume 1, and PDF page plus 973 in Volume 2
ItemBookPDF pageWorkingPrinted page
3.4Vol 1155155 less 9146
13.1.1Vol 21212 plus 973985

So for 13.1.1 the screen says Vol 2, page 985, and that is the 12th page of the Volume 2 PDF.
