How to look up a basic rate
- Sign in and press Basic rates in the side menu.
- Type in the box a 4 digit code like 0114, or a word like cement or beldar.
- Each row shows the Code, Description, Unit and Rate.
Things to know
- The book has 2,576 basic rates, for the hire of machinery, for labour and for materials.
- What you type is matched with the start of a code or with any part of a description.
- When too many rows match, the list shows the first rows and says narrow the search for more.
- The analyses price their lines from these basic rates. For example 0367, Portland Cement (OPC-43 Grade), is 5,156.00 per tonne, item 3.4 uses 0.38 tonne of it for every cum of mortar, and 13.1.1 is built from 3.4.
- This list is only for looking. You change a rate on an item, in the panel called Change a rate wherever it is used, and the change goes into every line that uses the rate, in that item and in the items it is built from. Change one rate everywhere
